Turmeric is a spice deriving from certain specimens of the Zingiberaceae family and Curcuma genus. In particular, this yellow powder is obtained by bringing the rhizomes of the plant to boil, drying them and then crushing them. This spice can be used to add flavor to any dish, but it is ideal in the preparation of first courses such as risottos and soups. It is also excellent in vegetable-based dishes such as zucchini, eggplant and peppers, adding a stronger flavor and a touch of color.
Turmeric can be used to make delicious infusions, sweetened with honey, which can relieve colds.
